Summer is almost over and so are some of the activities we held to help children (and adults) enjoy their free time during holidays. One of them was the Summer Reading Challenge.
The annual challenge to keep children reading throughout the summer holidays has seen over 100 kids accept and sign up here at Walkley Library.
Their job is to read six books in the six weeks of the holidays, with incentives such as posters and stickers to collect along the way, and several have already completed their reading. When a child finishes the challenge, they receive a medal and certificate.
However, we are having a medal ceremony for all the children who have completed the challenge on Saturday 5th September, where there will be craft activities for the kids and they will all be awarded their medals and certificates.
If they are unable to attend the medal ceremony, they can still pick up their awards from the counter in the library once they have finished. Sign up at the counter when you collect your final set of stickers.
Congratulations to all the kids who made it to the end! Wear your medal with pride
