Our calendar for 2016 is ready!

Thank you for supporting Walkley Library by buying this calendar.

We would also like to thank Mick Liversidge and all at Limited, Business Centre, Unit 5, Edmund Road Business Centre, Sheffield S2 4ED

(Tel 0114 275 7222 ext 512). All the advice and technical support have been excellent and the work was completed within a very tight timescale.

We also thank the staff and students of St Mary's Church of England Academy, Cundy St., Walkley for taking up our Art Competition challenge for children, and sending in a wonderful set of pictures. Even though we had to choose just a small number for the calendar itself, we have been delighted to have all the pictures on display in the Library.

Thanks also to the two judges of the Art Competition: author, Gavin Extence, Patron of Walkley Carnegie Library and artist, Jacqui Hilson, from the Walkley Edge Art Group.

Peter Evans, Archives and Local Studies Manager at Sheffield City Archives, gave us speedy and efficient help with obtaining digital copies of past images of Walkley Library for the months of February, April, June and September. These date from 1904 (February), 1929 (April), 1955 (June) and 1929 (September). Thanks!
